The materials under the “PRIM” trademark enable to obtain protective and decorative coatings in mechanical engineering, building, transport, in petroleum and oil-and-gas industries, in chemical and petrochemical industries, in electrical power engineering, telecommunications and in housing and communal facilities.
A distinctive feature of the whole range of the “PRIM”-labeled materials is the possibility to apply single-layer coatings with the thickness of 100 to 1000 ?m onto metal and mineral surfaces, the application being carried out by compressed air or airless spraying or with a brush and a roller.
Furthermore, thanks to a particular choice of structure and mechanical properties, the materials provide for a fixed thickness of the coating without drippings or excrescences and do not drain down from vertical surfaces.
The same properties provide relaxation of internal stresses during the hardening of thickened coatings and, in this way, high adhesion and their long useful life in service. This characteristic was discovered by national scientists that had established the phenomenon of thixotropic reduction of internal stresses in polymer coatings, the phenomenon residing in the fact that internal stresses in polymer systems formed by thixotropic structures were lower than those of polymer systems formed by nonthixotropic structures.
The technology of applying relaxing coatings allows, in some cases, to change traditional multilayer technologies of paint and varnish coatings for single-layer technologies with the use of “PRIM”-range materials, which results in paint work cost reduction and in increase of productive capacity while carrying out the work.
Another dustinctive feature of the “PRIM”-range materials resides in the surface-active effect while applied onto a support and in a strong inhibiting effect during the service of the coating formed, this inhibiting effect being due to the presence of a set of efficient corrosion inhibitors and of additives in the “PRIM” material composition, that provide, together with the penetrating and water-displacing effect, retarding of electrochemical processes when the coatings are under the effect of external factors, and, in this way, higher protective properties.
Another distinctive feature of the “PRIM” materials is the multifunctional character of their protective properties as well. In particular, together with the anticorrosive effect, the coatings made on their base can demonstrate noise-isolating, abrasion-resistant or preserving properties.
